Meet: Gemma Cutts

Gemma specialised in digital embroidery during her embroidery degree many moons ago, and spent the first part of her career working in design across New York and London.

Her embroidery process involves hand drawing her designs and turning these drawings into vector files, before uploading them to the embroidery machine to work its magic.

Each piece is designed to be beautiful, useful and come with "A LARGE dollop of fun, sarcasm and fluorescent thread."

paperCutts designs is about making the luxury and joy of embroidery part of your everyday life.

"Everything I make is designed to last; whether it’s a leather make up bag that gets more supple with age or one of my huge embroidered blankets that become part of the family. Textiles are imbued with our memories, and embroidery is the luscious cherry on the top. Is it a necessity? No. But goodness it brings joy."

Gemma fits in her embroidery business alongside looking after two small humans, which makes her fruits of her creative labour even more precious.
